THE UNITED STATES MAKES OVER 300 DIFFERENT VARIETIES OF HONEYS.

KENTUCKY MAKES ABOUT 30.

HERE ARE SOME OF MY FAVORITES!

PS.  You will occasionally read about honeys being divided into grades based on color or distinctions such as table honeys or baking honeys.  It is all a bunch of hooey.   Raw local honey is based on taste and health benefits.  If you want a really robust honey  and lots of antioxidants- get Buckwheat.  If you want a mild honey to put in your tea - get Clover.  It is all about what your needs are and the taste you want and deserve from a local honey!

BUCKWHEAT

Color is dark brown.  A very full-bodied honey with a strong distinct flavor.  Typically contains more antioxidants compounds than most lighter honeys.

BLACK LOCUST

A white (clear looking) honey to slightly tinged with yellow.  Becoming very rare as more locust trees are being but down.  If you see some, get it!  Has a snappy taste.

CLOVER

Varies in color from water-white to dark amber with a mild delicate flavor.  Although light in color, research shows clover honey is rich in antioxidants.

WILDFLOWER

Varies from dark amber to brown.  Taste may vary depending on the plants from which the bees harvested.  Very rich in antioxidants.
